Glitter Words

Last week and this week Rosebank Primary School got visited by Harold and his Life Education Trust bus.  Life Education is a health based education resource, teaching children the wonder to their bodies and what good substances are needed for healthy lifestyles.

They teach health to primary and intermediate school children each year.  They go into schools by invitation.

Why is Life Education Important?
  • It encourages students to develop life skills
  • Students gain knowledge about health choices
  • Students develop self esteem and a postivie understanding of themselves
  • Students develop strategies for relating to others
It was really fun and interesting, we learned all about drugs and alcohol and what they do to you and what you need to look out for and things like that.
Our learning intention was to
  • identify the difference between helpful and harmful drugs
  • understand that drugs change the way the mind or body works
  • recognise that drugs enter and travel through the body in a variety of ways.
We got to see Harold!!  It was really cool, mind you we are Y5/6 class and its weird but we get excited very time we see Harold.
